Caleb Anthony Flowers, a 14-year-old soprano from Clover, and Dalton Eric Shaffer, 15-year-old violinist from Vernon Hill, each took home $300 after winning the South Boston Lions Club’s Annual James Bland Memorial Music Contest on Friday night at The Prizery.

A feral cat captured in the Virgilina community has tested positive for rabies, according to a press release issued late Friday afternoon by the local health department.
