A 68-year-old Roanoke man is in the hospital after being hit by a car Saturday on Electric Road in front of Tanglewood Mall, police say. About 11:40a.m., witnesses saw a man standing at the concrete median near Wendy's, waiting to cross the southbound lanes of traffic. When he stepped into the road, he was hit by an oncoming vehicle, according to a news release from the Roanoke County Police Department.
