Man uninjured after house fire in Olde Towne Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH
No injuries were reported today in a house fire in the 500 block of Hampton Place, in Olde Towne.
The fire was reported at 3:40 p.m. A man inside the house got out safely, said Captain JK Roenker of the fire department.
The fire caused moderate damage to the second floor of the house, and was brought under control in about 10 minutes.

Hampton man charged with murder in brother’s death

Hampton police have charged a man in his brotherrsquo;s death in May.
Barry Michael Mullen, 50, was charged Wednesday night with murder, police wrote in a news release. Mullen, who lives in the 1st block of Olga Court, is being held in the city jail.
