John Edwards’ eldest daughter to take the stand

The eldest daughter of John Edwards is set to take the stand in her father's defense.
Cate Edwards is a 30-year-old lawyer who has sat behind the former presidential contender nearly every day of his corruption trial, now in its fourth week. She's expected to testify today.

The National Academy of Sciences will hold a May 31 hearing in Virginia Beach to give a public briefing on its uranium mining report looking at Virginia.
The NAS last December released a study assessing the prospect of mining in Virginia even as a private company seeks clearance to mine Pittsylvania County deposit rich in the ore used a fuel in nuclear power plants.

The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help locating a missing 12-year-old boy.
Linnie W. “Trey” Cain III was last seen about 8 p.m. Monday in the yard of his home in the 3200 block of Big Bethel Road in Tabb, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Office.

Over the next two days, there will be a good chance for isolated or scattered showers at almost any time of the day or night. They will tend to be a bit stronger or cover more area during the afternoon or evening, but they are possible any time.
Temperatures will also be a bit warmer than normal for this time of year with lows in the mid-60s and highs generally close to 80.
