Daylight saving time: Move clocks ahead one hour

WASHINGTON Winter has dragged on in much of the country, but here’s a sign spring is close at hand: Daylight saving time arrives this weekend. Most Americans will set their clocks 60 minutes forward before heading to bed Saturday night. Daylight saving time officially starts Sunday at 2 a.m. local time.
Forecast: Spring-like weather ahead to start the week

Hampton Roads will start the week feeling a lot like spring. Today’s high is expected in the low 50s, and temperatures will be in the upper 60s and near 70 degrees Monday and Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service. Skies will be cloudy this morning and then gradually clear. There is a 20 percent chance of rain before 10 a.m.

Founding member of Chesapeake General Hospital dies

CHESAPEAKE Dr. W. Stanley Jennings Sr., a founding doctor of Chesapeake General Hospital, died Friday at his Norfolk home. He was 87. Jennings worked as a family physician for 55 years. He was born in Old Norfolk County and graduated from Great Bridge High School, according to an obituary published online by Oman Funeral Home & Crematory.
