Police suspect Beach man killed mother, himself

VIRGINIA BEACH
Police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide over the holiday weekend that left a 71-year-old woman and her son dead.
About 9 p.m. Sunday, a family member called police and asked them to check on the welfare of Michaelene Martin, 71, who lived in the 1600 block of Nader St., according to a news release from the Police Department.
