Man uninjured after house fire in Olde Towne Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH
No injuries were reported today in a house fire in the 500 block of Hampton Place, in Olde Towne.
The fire was reported at 3:40 p.m. A man inside the house got out safely, said Captain JK Roenker of the fire department.
The fire caused moderate damage to the second floor of the house, and was brought under control in about 10 minutes.

Virginia Zoo announces birth of baby bongo Emma

The Virginia Zoo this morning announced the birth of a bongo.
The bongo, born Monday, was named Emma, according to the announcement.
Three bongos were born last year at the zoo. The herd now includes the calf, three juveniles, an adult male and three adult females, according to the zoo.

Dispatchers received a report of an injured person at Birdsong Peanutsnbsp;just after 9 a.m., said Debbie George, city spokeswoman. The man was rescued about 10:30 a.m.
