Virginia News Shockoe baseball stadium plan wins initial backing 6-3

The Richmond City Council chose Monday to press ahead with the plan for a baseball stadium in Shockoe Bottom, but the 6-3 vote leaves little room for error as Mayor Dwight C. Jones sets out to finalize the project’s details.

The Virginia Marine Resources Commission today revoked the fishing licenses of four watermen for “egregious or repeated” violations of state fishing laws related to oysters.
