Virginia News Shockoe baseball stadium plan wins initial backing 6-3

Richmond Times-Dispatch|Tuesday, February 25, 2014

The Richmond City Council chose Monday to press ahead with the plan for a baseball stadium in Shockoe Bottom, but the 6-3 vote leaves little room for error as Mayor Dwight C. Jones sets out to finalize the project’s details.

Monday’s vote, which occurred around 11 p.m. after a marathon session, was not the final decision, but it was the first major test for the development plan unveiled by the mayor late last year.
