Nathan Corbin, a Rappahannock native who now calls Fairfax County home, delivers an emotional but upbeat talk Monday at Rappahannock County Elementary School’s Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) program graduation ceremony. As past and current DARE officers, respectively, Jeff Brown (left) and Robbie Fincham, listened along with a roomful of fifth-graders, the sheriff and other deputies (several of whom had tears in their eyes), Corbin spoke of his slow road to recovery after crashing his car into a tree on U.S. 522 late one December night in 2003 – an accident that killed his younger brother, Dylan (and to which Fincham, a road deputy, was first to respond). “I realized what I needed to be doing with my life a little late,” said Corbin, speaking of the years of substance abuse and stints in jail that he said followed the tragedy. “But you all can decide now on a path that doesn’t…
