STAFFORD — A Woodbridge man was charged in Stafford on Tuesday after police said he took cigarettes from a Shell gas station.

FREDERICKSBURG — The Marine Corps Historic Half "Registration Celebration” will be held Wednesday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and is by invitation only for those who have run every Historic Half marathon.

The Stafford County Board of Supervisors will meet at 3 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. at the George L. Gordon, Jr. Government Building in Stafford.

Stafford resident, 19, presses forward despite obstacle
STAFFORD — Germanna student Melissa Eadie, a Stafford County resident, is facing a huge obstacle but has pushed forward despite its presence. 
Eadie, 19, recently lost her leg to cancer.

STAFFORD — The Stafford County School Board met Tuesday, and Superintendent Randy Bridges presented his Fiscal 2013 Proposed Budget. Bridges proposed just under $40 million of an increase for the schools system, according to the plan.

RICHMOND — The Supreme Court of Virginia has refused to grant The Rutherford Institute’s petition for a rehearing in the case of a 14-year-old student who was suspended for shooting plastic “spitwads” while at school.

STAFFORD — A Stafford man is wanted for armed robbery and grand larceny, according to the Fredericksburg Police Department, which reports that a woman was attacked in the Fredericksburg Trailer Park on Jan. 20.

STAFFORD —A Fredericksburg man was sentenced Monday to four years in prison and one year in jail after police say he fired shots into the air at a party April 16 last year in Hartwood.
