Republican Gov. Bob McDonnell has signed off on hotly-debated voter identification bills.

The boost is not as high as one considered in an earlier proposal, but it's not as low as Gov. McDonnell wanted.

BLACKSBURG -- In-state undergraduates at Virginia Tech, like their peers at other state colleges and universities, will pay slightly more next fall, but not as little as their governor had hoped.

The process takes time but state officials have a “laser focus” on bringing employers to Southwest Virginia, according to Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell.
