Running back Clifton Richardson is leaving the University of Virginia, the school announced Thursday.
Richardson, who played for Menchville High School in Newport News, will have two years of eligibility left.
Cavaliers coach Mike London did not specify why Richardson is leaving, but said in a news release that he is in good academic standing.

Basketball | P.A.‘s Swango says she’ll play at College of Charleston
Princess Anne point guard Justyce Swango, who helped guide the Cavaliers to the Group AAA state championship game this past season as a junior, has committed to the College of Charleston.
Swango, the 16th-ranked point guard in the class of 2014 and a four-star recruit according to ESPN, averaged 10.4 points, 3.7 assists and 3.4 steals as a junior.
