Tech softball team advances in first round of NCAA tournament

Virginia Tech’s softball team surged to a 4-1 win over UAB in the first round of the NCAA Tournament at University of Tennessee’s Lee Stadium on Friday.

The Hokies will take on Miami of Ohio today at 1:30 p.m. in the winner’s bracket.
