The Wirtz girl faces an involuntary manslaughter charge in the wreck that killed her classmate.

Virginia State Police have charged a 17-year-old girl from Wirtz with involuntary manslaughter and reckless driving in connection with the Jan.23 wreck that killed a Franklin County High School classmate and severely injured two others.

One claims the engine's lights and sirens weren't on; the other disputes that fact.

ROCKY MOUNT — Two lawsuits have been filed in connection with a fatal 2010 fire truck collision that provide new and conflicting information about the crash.

Longtime Rocky Mount firefighters Posey Dillon and William Altice were killed July 26, 2010, when a fire truck on its way to a house fire crashed into an SUV, flipped three times and landed on a car, according to police reports at the time.

He was fined $7,500 for taking money from the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce.

After being fired over embezzlement allegations three years ago, former Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce director Shane Adams was found guilty in court Friday.

He was found guilty on three counts and will pay $2,500 per count, totalling $7,500.
