Two people were airlifted to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after a single-vehicle crash on Virginia 8 (Riner Road) in Montgomery County.

Dispatchers received the call about the crash at 2:09 p.m., said Capt. Brian Wright with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office. A Hyundai traveling on Riner Road near Broad Shoals Road overturned and struck a tree when it rolled, Wright said.

Fans of the Masonic Theatre in Clifton Forge hope a $4 million restoration project that includes new seats, lights, screens and furnishings will revitalize the building and the town.

CHARLOTTESVILLE — Jury selection continued Tuesday in the case of a former University of Virginia lacrosse player accused of killing his ex-girlfriend in a case that rocked the picturesque campus.

A teacher at Lord Botetourt High School in Botetourt County was convicted by a judge Tuesday of misdemeanor assault and battery after a student accused the teacher of grabbing his shirt in November at the school.
