Two people were airlifted to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after a single-vehicle crash on Virginia 8 (Riner Road) in Montgomery County.

Dispatchers received the call about the crash at 2:09 p.m., said Capt. Brian Wright with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office. A Hyundai traveling on Riner Road near Broad Shoals Road overturned and struck a tree when it rolled, Wright said.

Fans of the Masonic Theatre in Clifton Forge hope a $4 million restoration project that includes new seats, lights, screens and furnishings will revitalize the building and the town.

CLIFTON FORGE — One couple told Wilma McClung they conceived a child inside the Masonic Theatre.

The day the theater closed in 1987, for what turned out to be three years, many with intimate ties to the building grieved. McClung was one.

Blacksburg police announced two more arrests in an armed robbery that took place last week.

Investigators spoke to an alleged victim at LewisGale Hospital Montgomery. That man said he was injured in a Feb. 1 armed robbery in the Nellies Cave Road area of town. The man was treated for a facial injury and cash and a purse were taken from the group he was with, which included two females.

Lawyers have asked potential jurors about their views on alcohol and domestic violence.

CHARLOTTESVILLE — Jury selection continued Tuesday in the case of a former University of Virginia lacrosse player accused of killing his ex-girlfriend in a case that rocked the picturesque campus.

Prosecutors and defense attorneys were seeking a pool of 27 potential jurors from which to choose 12 jurors and three alternates for the first-degree murder trial of George Huguely. He has been charged in the May 2010 death of Yeardley Love, a member of the university women's lacrosse team.

A teacher at Lord Botetourt High School in Botetourt County was convicted by a judge Tuesday of misdemeanor assault and battery after a student accused the teacher of grabbing his shirt in November at the school.
